Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does it mean to be a volunteer?
Volunteering means donating your time and skills to a cause that inspires you. At Soul Bilíngue, by choosing to be a teacher, you teach and share your English knowledge, expanding opportunities for our young people and becoming a role model for them.
2. What is the difference between a Mentor and a Teacher?
Mentor: If you have a B2 level or higher in English and are over 18, you can become a mentor! You'll connect with a student individually to practice conversation, boosting their confidence and fluency. It's a flexible commitment of at least three 40-minute sessions every 4 weeks, scheduled directly with your student. No prior teaching experience is required—just a friendly attitude, commitment, and the desire to share your English!
Teacher: If you're passionate about teaching and have experience, become a volunteer English teacher! Our English teachers are experienced and hold proficiency certificates. You will lead 90-minute online group classes on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm (Brasília time). Don't worry, you'll have teaching materials, training, and support to guide you!
3. Can I volunteer from anywhere in the world?
Yes! Our mentoring and teaching programs are entirely online, making it possible for volunteers from anywhere to connect with our students.
