30 low-income students will accomplish the dream of the foreign exchange with Soul Bilíngue in 2022

With passports, tickets, and packed bags, students will fulfill their dream of studying abroad

Ambassadors Soul Bilíngue 2019

Soul Bilíngue starts February with more than 20 ex-students confirmed to board to English-speaking countries to accomplish the foreign exchange dream. Most of them are young people from previous program editions who could not travel in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The social institution expects to make at least 30 international trips possible for low-income students this year.

Alana Mayrine, Soul Bilíngue ambassador

Soul has already set some students who will travel to the exchange program in the first semester of the year, such as Alana Mayrine, 23 years old. With a desire to go further, she was a student in the second semester of 2019. She will go to the English exchange in April, in England, with English Path, Soul Bilíngue's partner school. Excited about the trip, Alana is counting the days until boarding.

"It's a mix of emotions. Sometimes I get a little scared because I'm traveling alone to a different place. But, at the same time, I'm extremely excited to know that I will be in the 'land of the Queen.'"

The foreign exchange will be Alana's first international trip. Therefore, besides studying, she plans to visit some tourist attractions such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and the Birmingham Museum.

"I'm a geek. Then I also want to visit The Shambles, the street that inspired J.K. Rowling to create Diagon Alley in Harry Potter".

MATHEUS IN IRELAND

Matheus Moura, Soul Bilíngue ambassador

Like Alana, the 21-year-old student, Matheus Moura, will travel abroad for the first time too. In October this year, the student from the second semester of 2019 leaves for Ireland to study at ATC Language Schools, another Soul's partner school. Matheus is also excited about the opportunity and talks about his expectations with the English exchange scholarship.

"I joined the program focused on earning a scholarship. This opportunity will open doors for me professionally. It will be the achievement of a personal dream, traveling around the world, even more to Europe."

BIANCA IN SOUTH AFRICA

Bianca Mendes, Soul Bilíngue ambassador

Unlike Matheus and Alana, Bianca Mendes' destination will be Africa, with the Good Hope Studies school. She was also a second-semester 2019 student and will depart for Cape Town in March.

"I will have the privilege of going to South Africa. I can't wait to explore every corner of the country. The penny hasn't dropped yet that I will be 100% alone in a different country, and the thrill of the dream of traveling abroad grows constantly".

Preparing the last details for the trip, Bianca hopes to return with fluent English and take proficiency tests to apply for international universities.

Soul Bilíngue intends to send at least ten students abroad this first semester. There are 23 students confirmed to travel this year.
